Abstract

646,975. Two-part couplings; plug-boards. TRIX, Ltd. July 14, 1948, No. 18889. [Class 38 (i)] A terminal for a wire 9 comprises a head 1, Fig. 4, having a hole 2 and two or more tongues 3 connected to said head arranged to grip the wire when inserted through said hole. The tongues may be within a square tube 4 mounted on a panel, the ends 3a of the tongues being bent outwards to retain the terminal in the tube. Where the panel is of sufficient thickness to enable the ends of the tongues to be bent over it, the tube is dispensed with. A block of insulating material may be formed in two halves 10, 10a, Fig. 6, each with half of one or more square-section holes 11 formed therein so that when the two halves are placed together, one or more terminals are held in the respective holes. Fig. 8 shows a terminal block having a central recess 14, on either side of which sets of terminals are mounted in square recesses 15, adjacent tongues 3 being soldered together and the whole closed by a cover 18.
