Abstract

637,196. Pistons. MOREILLON, A. E. July 11, 1947, No. 18402. [Class 122(i)] In a piston 1 of the type having a skirt 2 and a gudgeon pin 11 attached thereto, the gudgeon pin is located in a diametral hole 10 in a cylindrical member 8 screwed into the skirt at the end remote from the piston crown, the cylindrical member 8 has a shoulder 9 abutting the end of the skirt whereby location of the cylindrical member in the skirt is pre-determined. The gudgeon pin 11 may be tubular and fitted at each end with spherical-headed plugs 12 of soft material to prevent damage to screw threads.
