Abstract

628,803. Chain gearing. DAIMLER CO., Ltd., and TAIT, J. N. H. Oct. 21, 1947, No. 28073. [Class 80 (i)] A chain tensioning slipper is of a non-metallic resilient material so as to reduce noise. As shown the slipper 5 is, of tubular form and of rubber, - preferably oil resisting, reinforced by canvas plies 6. A spring 9 may also be provided, the whole being secured by a bolt 8 to the casing 4. In a modified form the slipper comprises a solid block of rubber with transverse holes bonded to a metal securing plate.
