[Class 42 (i)] [Also in Group XI] An electrode for seaming curved surfaces of material and which may be adjusted to accommodate various radii is formed by the end faces of a number of metal plates 3 placed side-byside in a holder 1. Clamping screws 6 hold the metal plates 3 in position and a thin metal strip 9 is provided to form a smooth electrode face. A layer of rubber is bonded to the top edges of the metal plates and rigid channel-section pieces 15 co-operating with adjustable screws 14 prevent displacement of the plates when pressure is applied to the work-piece.
