Abstract

In the process of impregnating simultaneously the inner and outer surfaces of tubular members (e.g. ferrous superheater elements) with chromium, a controllable forced flow of impregnating medium-liquid or gaseous-is maintained through the interior of said tube whilst immersed in said medium. Control of the flow of liquid medium is by pump or hydrostatic head; in the case of a gas is by blower or fan. The impregnating medium may be chromous or chromic chloride, or a chromium-bearing salt bath.
