Abstract
600,857. Dry shavers. HINDS, G. A. Sept. 21, 1945, No. 24544. [Class 131] In an electricallydriven razor of the kind in which a resiliently mounted armature is arranged opposite the poles of an electromagnet and arranged to reciprocate the cutter, means are provided, operable from the outside of the razor casing, for adjusting the gap between the armature and the said poles. In the arrangement shown the electromagnet is pivoted at 39 to two frame members 27 secured together and forming the motor chassis and the electromagnet is adjusted by a screw 40 having a knob 41 projecting from the casing. The electro-magnet is built up of laminations secured together between side plates having ears 37 to which the nut 38 of the adjusting screw is secured. A spring 42 is arranged between the nut 38 and a plate 31 carried by the frame members 27. The armature 21 is carried by a blade spring 22 clamped to lugs 26 of the frame members 27. The armature 21 is provided with an insulated extension 20 carrying the member 17 by which the cutter is driven, a flexible diaphragm 43 being provided to prevent access of cut hairs penetrating into the motor casing. The frame members 27 are detachably held between the parts of the outer casing and together with the motor may be removed from the razor casing. Specification 600,897 is-referred to.
