1,009,659. Reciprocating electric motors. G. P. KRATZ. Dec. 3, 1963 [Dec. 5, 1962; Dec. 6, 1962; June 14, 1963], No. 47670/63. Heading H2A. [Also in Division B4] An electric shaver for use with an A.C supply comprises a casing 11, 12, a magnetic circuit provided with windings 25, 26, an oscillatory armature 29 carried on a pivot pin 31 attached to a mounting plate 32 adjustably secured in the casing, the armature, except for a magnetic shoe 30, being constructed of a synthetic plastic, a coupling pin 66 for engaging a cutter block, a cutter head 15 attachable to the casing and containing a cutter foil 17, a cutter block comprising a coupling member preferably made of a synthetic plastic engageable by the pin 66 for reciprocation thereby, a spring 68 to urge the cutter block into contact with the foil 17. A change-over switch operable by a button 21 is provided to connect the windings 25, 26 in series or in parallel whereby the shaver is adapted to operate from a desired voltage with the windings connected in series or from half of that voltage with the windings connected in parallel.
