608,136. Aerating liquids. BENDEL, H. L., and JONNERET, F. Aug. 21, 1945, No. 21388. [Class 14(i)] [Also in Group II] A centrifugal device for dispersing a gaseous fluid in the midst of a liquid, comprising a container 70 with an inlet 71 and a separate outlet 72 for the continuous flow of the liquid to be treated, includes a stirring member 76 of flat. tubular, or other shape, rotating at high speed and causing the liquid surface to take the shape of a deep vortex 78 which extends down to the member 76, whereby the middle of the member 76 rotates in the gaseous fluid, the ends being in contact with the liquid, so that the gaseous fluid passes through the vortex to be projected and dispersed in the liquid by the stirring member 76. In an alternative construction the member 76 is mounted at the middle of a vertical rotary shaft the lower end of which carries a propellor for causing a vertical circulation of the liquid.
