Abstract
605,156. Cam mechanism for conveying rotary motion. ASHFIELD, H. E. Dec. 17, 1945, No. 34069. [Class 80 (iii)] In a cam mechanism for transmitting rotary motion at an increased or reduced speed and comprising rollers d which are radially reciprocable on a supporting member e between a cam member f and an eccentric member c, the pins j<1> on which the rollers d are mounted are provided with slippers h which slide in radial grooves or slots i<1> in rings e<1> secured to the member e. As shown, a is the driving shaft which gyrates an eccentric ring c rotatably mounted thereon to drive, through rollers d, a cam f on a driven shaft g at a reduced speed, the member e carrying the rollers being a fixed reaction member. The cam or the eccentric may alternatively serve as the fixed reaction member, in which case the roller-supporting member drives or is driven.
