611,134. Friction gearing. AKTIEBOLAGET TORKAPPARATER. April 23, 1946, No. 12196. Convention date, April 23, 1945. [Class 80 (i)] [Also in Groups II and XII] In a friction drive for rotary drums, furnaces, containers or the like, the drum is supported on driving friction rollers 1, which engage driving rings 3 on the drum, each roller being driven by its individual motor 4 to equalize any differences of the transmission ratio between a driving ring 3 and a driving roller 1 at the different transmission points. In one modification, each ring 3 has two driving rollers driven by individual motors, and in a second modification some rollers are driving rollers and some are supporting rollers.
