605,078. Pipe couplings. FOY, G. A. Dec. 13, 1945, No. 33764. [Class 99 (i)] A coupling for pipes, tubes, cables or the like a, b, comprises a coupling member c with an outwardly flared mouth d, a conical packing ring g of resilient or malleable material such as rubber, a conical, slotted, clamping ring e of metal or other hard material, and a coupling nut h for exerting an axial thrust on the rings. Resilience of the ring e is achieved by the slits f. The coupling member may be formed as a T-piece for connecting pipes with perpendicular axes.
