[Class 83 (iv)] [Also in Group XXVIII] A method of making a tubular structure consists of providing the elbows, tees and like parts with spigot members 3 having annular grooves 5 at their bases, and the tubular parts with socket members 1, each having mating surfaces 4, 5, formed with a mirror finish, partly effecting the joint by hand, and completing it by hydraulic or like pressure so that the end 6 of each socket is forced into the corresponding groove 5 in the spigot.
