Abstract
576,730. Tongs. GUIDICE, S. L. Sept. 23, 1943, No. 15650. Convention date, Sept. 23, 1942. [Class 61 (ii)] [Also in Group XIV] Tongs for use with the hair curlers described in Specification 576,731, [Group XIV], comprise two pivoted arms, each arm consisting of handle and jaw parts, the end of one or both jaws being grooved to grip the curler during the hairwinding operation and one of the jaws having a slot to receive the heel of the curler blade and permit rotation thereof. The arms are pivoted at 9, one arm having a jaw 1 with a groove 4 of appropriate shape, while the other jaw has a corresponding groove 4a, this latter groove having a slot 13 to receive the heel of the curler blade. The handles 6, 6a enable the jaws 1, 1a to exert pressure on the curler shank. The ends of the handles may have ornamentation such as the letter V or T.
