[Class 87 (i')] A hollow concrete building block comprises two parallel. slabs or panels a, b cast integrally together with transverse connecting partitions c forming hollow spaces d, a waterproof cement &c. layer g on the front panel a and an external facing h of porous clay tiles, concrete, &c. preferably spaced to give the appearance of brickwork. The end partitions c are set inwards and provided with projections e forming grips for lifting the block and mortar grooves f extend around the edges of the front panel a. The cross partitions c may be recessed at the top to receive reinforcements.
