Abstract

1,110,114. Wall slabs; brickwork panels. PROCTOR & LAVENDER Ltd. 28 April, 1965 [28 April, 1964], No. 17486/64. Heading E1B. A concrete wall slab (not shown) is faced with abutting courses of thin brick or like "slips" 2 having their front faces rebated at least along the longer side to provide horizontal grooves between courses. One of the shorter sides of each slip may also be rebated as shown to produce a simulated-brickwork panel. The slips adjacent two of the panel edges are unrebated. In manufacture the various stretcher and header slips, Figs. 5-9 (not shown) are abutted together face down in a mould and concrete poured thereover. The rear faces of the slips may be grooved to key the concrete, and sand may be sprinkled to prevent concrete penetrating to the front faces.
