562,445. Locking nuts. MAZZUCHELLI, D. March 16, 1943, No. 4238. Convention date, May 13, 1942. [Class 89 (i)] Nuts for use with bolts having one or more longitudinal grooves 2 are provided on the top face with a transverse groove with undercut edges 4 in which slides a member 5 apertured to pass the bolt and provided with a tongue that engages a groove 2 under the action of a spring formed by the end 8 of the slide bent down at 8a to engage a groove in one of the side faces of the nut. If a spanner be applied to this face it holds the tongue clear of the groove during screwing up or unscrewing.
