Abstract
562,127. Blowpipe burners. WHITE, S. H. Dec. 18, 1942, No. 17990. [Class 75 (i)] [Also in Group XXIX] In a metal cutting, welding or like burner, the oxygen and fuel gas pass to the burner nozzle through chambers 21, 22 separated by a diaphragm 20 in a cylinder 19 arranged wholly within the burner handle, the inlet to the fuel chamber 22 being past a valve 25 operated by a rod 26 attached to the diaphragm 20 and the outlet 23 and outlet 24 of the oxygen chamber 21 and the outlet 27 of the fuel gas chamber 22 being restricted orifices so that the proportions by volume of the issuing gas remain constant in spite of adjustment of the control valves 6, 5. The oxygen supply to the cutting jet is controlled by a hand-operated valve 7.
