Abstract

565,354. Converting. HARMER, H. M. Feb. 16, 1943, No. 2556. [Class 38 (ii)] In an arrangement adapted to produce a constant drive current for the vibratory switch K of an inverter in spite of variations of the voltage of the D.C. supply, the operating coil C of the switch has generated in series with it, e.g. by means of a secondary winding S of a transformer T1, a voltage derived from one of two inductive reactances arranged in series with the D.C. supply and the vibratory switch, the other inductive reactance having a condenser connected in parallel with it. In the form shown, the inductive reactances comprise transformers T1, T2, and due to the magnetic saturation of the core of transformer T2, variations in supply voltage D.C. will vary the timing of the induced voltage in S and so cause this to be added to or subtracted from the voltage D.C. The invention may be used with the arrangements disclosed in Specifications 493,362, 515,207, 521,314, 524,565 and 554,467, the transformers T1 and T2 carrying the A.C. input current for these arrangements. Specifications 554,712 and 556,990 also are referred to.
