Abstract

564,868. Adjustable seats. CHESTON, A. S., EDMONDS, E. C., CHESTON, B., and CORBER, F. H. May 5, 1943, No. 7067. [Class 52 (ii)] In a seat carrying frame 11 attached to a fixed base 3, e.g. by pairs of equal or unequal links 2, the angular position of the links 2 can be varied to adjust the height and tilt of the seat, by means of a pair of toggle links 5, 6 adjustable to or from straight line position, e.g. by a handle 8 and screw 9. One end of the toggle is secured to a cross-tube 4 fixed in the base, the other end being secured to the top frame at 10. Various constructions of toggle or their equivalents are described. The seat may be mounted on a vertical wall as described in Specification 560,404.
