Abstract

564,801. Vehicles adapted for carrying special loads; lorries. RICHARDS, H., and HENSON, W. Nov. 25, 1942, No. 16688. [Class 108 (i)] A device to facilitate the transportation of cylindrical objects of various diameters, such as boilers, comprises a flanged channel member A for attachment to a vehicle platform and having attached to it wedge-shaped members B held by bolts 1, 2 in longitudinal slots of member A at distances such that the boilers are held in position by engagement with them of the wedges B. Extension pieces sliding in the end portions of member A may be bolted in position by the bolts 1, 2, being provided with swivelling end plates for use when fixing chains are used.
