Abstract

A coupling for shipping containers comprises a threaded rod 14, having pointed ends, and bearing portions adjacent each end, which are received in holes in adjacent containers 16, U-shaped locking members 48 having legs 50 and 52 to locate in annular grooves 40 in each bearing portion, and nuts 60, 62 for taking up slack between the containers. Cotter pins 70 secure the members 48 in position.
