Abstract
558,904. Polymer dispersions. SEMTEX, Ltd., and GRIFFITHS, L. H. Sept. 3, 1942, No. 12438. [Class 2 (iii)] [Also in Group V] A composition for covering walls, floors &c. is made by mixing with Portland cement and aluminous cement, an inert filler, e.g. sand, quartz, granite, or brick dust, chips or pebbles, in which is incorporated water in amount less than 4 per cent. of the combined weight of the Portland and aluminous cement and mixing therewith an aqueous dispersion of rubber, e.g. natural rubber, synthetic rubber such as polymerized alkylene polysulphides, or of synthetic resin with a plasticizer or emulsions of bitumen or tar. Synthetic resins mentioned are polyvinyl acetate and polymethyl methacrylate, containing dibutyl phthalate or tricresyl phosphate.
