540,411. Ball-cocks. HARTE, H. M. March 12, 1940, No. 4581. [Class 135] A device for preventing noise caused by water flowing into a cistern through a ball-cock comprises a rubber tube secured to the discharge nozzle of the ballcock and extending nearly to the bottom of the cistern. A thickened part of the tube 1 is formed with an internal shoulder adapted to support a plate-like metal grid 3 of fine mesh and a cylindrical member 4 of porcelain or other material with a series of longitudinal passages 4a. The upper end is tapered or flared to facilitate attachment to the discharge pipe of the ball-cock.
