[Class 29] Absorption systems.-A non-fluorinated halogenated aliphatic hydrocarbon containing the dichlormethyl group is employed as refrigerant in association with an absorbent consisting of a non-halogenated liquid organic compound having divalent oxygen atoms both linked to carbon. In particular methylene chloride and chloroform are used as refrigerants and a disubstituted polyglycol diether, diester or ether ester, such as tetraethylene glycoldimethyl ether as absorbent. Other absorbents are mentioned in the Specification.
