Abstract
513,009. Adjusting wireless apparatus. PYE, Ltd., and BUTLER, C. E. M. March 29, 1938, No. 9577. [Class 37] [Also in Groups XXXVII and XL] A push-button 10, more particularly for use in a push-button tuner for radio apparatus, is formed of transparent or translucent material and passes through an aperture in an opaque member 12, such as an escutcheon plate, a felt or other opaque washer 16 being mounted at the rear of the button and adapted to prevent light from a source 17 passing through the button and aperture when the button is undepressed. Depression of the button causes the washer to move away from the aperture, thereby allowing light to pass through the aperture and button and to give a visible indication that the button is depressed. The inside surface of the member 12 may be sprayed white, or otherwise rendered reflecting to increase the light passing through the button. The button may be indentified by a translucent name plate 14 illuminated from the rear by the light-source 17.
