Abstract
516,987. Indicating-instruments. ASKANIAWERKE AKT.-GES. July 15, 1938, No. 21065. Convention date, July 23, 1937. Class 106 (ii)] On an aircraft the air-speed indicator and the rate-of-climb indicator are combined in a common casing, the first instrument being mounted to be rotatably adjustable. The pointers of the instrument are either arranged on a common axis or to avoid friction on two axes lying near one another as in the form illustrated. The air-speed pointer a pivoted at c moves over the dial plate h of the speedometer which is rotatable by turning the knob k, while the rate of climb pointer b pivoted at d moves over a fixed dial plate i slits corresponding to the size of the attaching means allow movement of the dial of the air-speed indicator. The pivots c, d are joined by a phospherescent bar f. When on a long distance flight the rate of climb pointer is at zero, the air speed pointer is adjusted to the Horizontal line formed by pointer a, bar f, and pointer b to secure uniformity of flight with respect to these factors.
