Abstract
490,568. Scaffolding. UECKER EQUIPMENT CO. July 5, 1937, No. 18608. Convention date, Feb. 1. [Class 20 (ii)] Tubular scaffold members are comiected together by elongated tubular pins 40, Fig. 3, provided with support members 41, the pins entering the ends of two superposed tubular members 11 ; and in order to vary the height of the scaffold within certain limits, sleeves 43 are used disposed between the end of the one scaffold member and the support member on the pin. Outside these limits for small adjustments, the lower ends of the scaffold may be packed, and, for greater adjustments, half-frames 25 comprising uprights connected by diagonals 15 or transverse members 33 are used. The lower ends of the scaffold frames are supported on foot-plates 20 provided with tubular spigots 21 and, for adjustment in height, sleeves 22, Fig. 4, may be inserted between the foot-plates and the lower ends of the frame uprights. The scaffold frames each comprise uprights connected by horizontals 12 or diagonals 15, and are assembled to support a sloping platform on their upper ends. The uprights 11 are provided with screwed projections 16 which receive the ends of the cross-bracing members.
