Abstract

1,187,181. Scaffolding. ENTERPRISES DEVARS NAUDO & CIE. 3 Jan., 1968 [10 Jan., 1967], No. 454/68. Heading E1S. Scaffolding towers are formed from prefabricated corner units 1 each with three diagonally-braced tubular arms 2-4 extending from the corner along mutually perpendicular axes, with connecting plates 6 on each end of the vertical arm 2, and also, if required, on the free ends of the horizontal arms 3, 4: arms 3, 4 may alternatively be interconnected by tubular dowels. One or two additional diagonally-braced horizontal arms may be provided on each unit to give a T- or X-shape in plan. The tower may be provided with wheels 12 and vertically-adjustable base plates 30 and upper saddle pieces 18. The wheels may lie outside the tower, as shown, or inside (Figs. 7, 8, not shown), and jacks may be incorporated to move the tower in relation to the base plates. The corner units may be connected together directly, as shown, or spaced by vertical and horizontal tubes 69-71 (Fig. 10, not shown).
