Abstract

470,700. Seats combined with receptacles. SMITH, J. S. Dec. 4, 1936, No. 34331/35. [Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (iii)] The side arm portions of an arm-chair are made hollow and provided with lids 6, and one arm portion is provided with a sliding auxiliary lid comprising two parts 8, 9 pivoted together so that when extended the part 8 may be swung across the front of the chair. One side portion may be fitted with a bottle rack, while the other is divided into compartments. Either or both lids 6 may be fitted with a rack 20 for wine glasses. The space beneath the seat 1 may accommodate a foot-rest 24 having a hinged inclined lid, and the seat back may be hollow and provided with a hinged lid 25.
