Abstract
467,338. Arm-rests for seats. GANT, M. Nov. 15, 1935, No. 31719. [Class 52 (ii)] A seat arm-rest 3 has an extension piece 5a hinged to its forward end, the front end of arm-rest 3 being formed as shown so that when the piece 5a is folded onto the arm-rest 3 the upholstered surface of the piece 5a is coplanar with that of the arm-rest 3. The arm-rest 3 may be provided with an ash tray 8 and means for locating a glass, cup and saucer or the like may be provided in either the arm-rest 3 or the piece 5a. Means may be provided for closing the ash tray or for maintaining it in an upright position, when the piece 5a is turned from one position to another. Means such as a stay, bracket or like member may be provided to support the piece 5a in its extended position.
