Abstract

479,227. Preparing wool for spinning &c. HILLE, P. VAN. Nov. 17, 1936, No. 31493. [Class 120 (iii)] Wool for spinning or for use as felt or stuffing material is prepared by subjecting the coarse or greasy wool fibres directly without previous cleaning to a parallelizing treatment, after which the fibres are formed into ribbons or slivers and then steeped, washed and dried. The parallelizing may be carried out in a gill-box having gill-bars more closely spaced than usual or in the gilling or drawing apparatus A, as set forth in Specification 430,694. The wool fibres b are collected into a sliver c and then passed through the scouring and washing apparatus C and drier D.
