Abstract

457,357. Pipe joints. BROMFORD TUBE CO., Ltd., INGALL, E. W., and SPENCER, R. W., Wheelwright Road, Erdington, Birmingham. Sept. 10, 1935, No. 25137. [Class 99 (i)] A spherical spigot b on a pipe a is secured within a corresponding socket d of a pipe c by clamping screws o which are carried by links n pivotally mounted on a ring m located on the socket to engage an annular recess on a flange p of the spigot. The spigot or socket may be provided with a rubber &c. jointing ring or rings l. In a modified joint, flanges q are located on the two pipes a, c and the clamping screws r, which are provided with nuts t, are pivoted on one flange and engage slots s in the other. A bush h is inserted in the expanded spigot part b of the pipe a to maintain a uniform bore through the joint.
