[Class 38 (ii)] In a transformer regulated by a movable magnetic shunt 13, the shunt, when of the slidable type, is mounted on guides 14, 15 secured in a rigid frame 16 surrounding, but mounted independently of, the core structure 12. In order that the guides may be maintained in alignment independently of the frame, they may be secured in apertured plates 17, 18. When the shunt is of the rotatable type, the bearings for the spindle on which the shunt is mounted are mounted in the frame 16.
