446,903. Wrenches. HUMPHRIS, F., Park House, Park Road, Parkstone, Dorset. Nov. 7, 1934, No. 31961. [Class 61 (iii)] A fixed or slidable jaw spanner with jaws adapted to slip round the corners of the nut to take up a fresh driving position comprises a hook jaw a with a straight or curved face a<1>, fulcrum edge f and faces a<3>, a<4> meeting at the apex a<2>, and a cam jaw b on the same head c, Fig. 1, or on the body e, Fig. 3, having a convex nut-contacting face b<1> and a concave nut corner clearance face b<2>. A contacting face c<2> prevents the nut from entering too deeply between the spanner jaws and another curved face c<3> provides clearance for the nut corners. It is stated to be essential that the plane X.. X of the face a<1> converges towards the tangent plane Y .. Y to the curved face b<1>.
