[Class 8 (ii)] [See also Group XVI] Relates to dusting-appliances for bronzing, dusting and like machines, of the type comprising top and bottom cleansing-tools forming a gap through which a web or sheet of paper or similar material can pass, each tool performing a combined sucking and brushing action, and consists in reciprocating both tools transversely to the travel of the paper and preferably in opposite directions. The paper passes between nozzles a, a<1> the ends of which are surrounded by plush, fur, or bristles, forming brushes b. The nozzles lead to tubes g, g<1> connected to an electric fan, the tubes being reciprocated in bearings by a lever r which is oscillated about a pivot p by a rotary cam t and has forked ends engaging pins o on the tubes. In a modification, revolving brushes rotate within the nozzles a, a<1>, the nozzle openings being adjustable by means of set screws.
