Abstract
438,739. Winding yarns &c. AYRTON & CO., Ltd., W., Gorebrook Ironworks, Longsight, and BEETHAM, T. E., 7, Elm Grove, Levenshulme, both in Manchester. July 5, 1934, No. 19771. [Class 120 (ii)] A yarn or like winding machine, in which the yarn &c. is traversed by a guide slidable in an angularly movable drum which houses the cam reciprocating the guide, has two winding spindles arranged in connection with the one drum with their axes parallel to the axis of the drum and a yarn or like guide support for each of the spindles is slidably mounted in the drum for reciprocation independently of each other. As shown the two yarn guides c have supports c<1> slidable on rods b secured in the ends of the angularlymovable drum a in the manner described in Specification 354,542 and are actuated by bowls c<2> bearing on the single cam d housed in the drum. The two spindles s are adjustably mounted in the machine frame and are carried by shaft, g<1>, j<1>, geared together through a wheel i so that they run in the same direction and the shaft g<1> is driven by a belt g from the main shaft of the machine. The yarn guides or their supports are set slightly out of step so that their times of reversal do not coincide and each support c<1> may carry a number of yarn guides ; the yarns t are led to the guides c under a guide l and over guides n, o.
