Abstract
In cleansing-agents which contain alkali carbonate and neutral alkali pyrophosphate the phosphate is at least half the carbonate. Other cleansers which may be present are soap, persalts, waterglass, metasilicate, and borax. For example, a mixture of 45 lb. of soap, 10 lb. of sodium perborate, 30 lb. of sodium pyrophosphate (Na4P2P7), and 15 lb. of soda (Na2CO3) is used for washing textiles. The neutral alkali pyrophosphate may be replaced by a mixture of acid alkali pyrophosphate with alkaline substances reacting therewith to form the neutral pyrophosphate.
