429,886. Discharge apparatus. BRITISH THOMSON - HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. Dec. 7, 1934, No. 35215. Convention date, Dec. 8, 1933. Drawings to Specification. [Class 39 (i)] [See also Group XI] Electric lamps and vacuum and low pressure tubes containing a filament which is not employed as a light source are provided with a fuse which is located within the bulb and formed by an intermediate portion of a leading- in wire of smaller cross-section than the remainder thereof. The fuse wire is preferably surrounded by an insulating shield. The end portions of the leading-in wire within the bulb are preferably made of nickel, while the intermediate portion, which is of much smaller cross-section, consists of nickel or an alloy thereof of greater strength. The insulating shield surrounding the fuse preferably consists of a glass tube.
