[Class 126.] In cooking-stoves such as field, camp, and like cookers, a liquid-fuel burner b, preferably of the type described in Specification 383,016, is arranged at one end of a casing a so that the flame extends in a substantially horizontal direction along the preferably refractory bottom g and the cooking vessels c are heated by the combustion gases returning towards a flue e above the burner, a secondary flue h being provided, or embodied in a water heater, at the other end of the casing to create a draught at starting or for regulating the flow of combustion gases. In the form shown, the flue e communicates with the casing a through the jacket d<1> of an oven d. The camp-kettles c are fitted in openings a<1> or on the hinged lids a<2>, which are formed as shallow pans and may have metal discs spot-welded upon the top face. The burner b is retained by guides b<2> in alignment with an opening b<3>, fitted with a perforated guard b' controlling the entrance of air, and is protected by the inclined deflector d<2> and side shields b<1>. In a second form, the oven can be detached and the flue e fitted to the opening in the casing. The vessels c are supported by cross bars in openings provided with detachable lids having indentations. In a third form, the stove is mounted on a trailer vehicle l, Fig. 5, provided with platforms o along each side and at the front end, hand rails p<1>, p<2> and hinged steps t. A fuel tank r and a water tank s supply the burner.
