Abstract

418,178. Brushes. NISTAL, J. G., 103, Paseo de Santa Engracia, Madrid. April 4, 1934, No. 10268. [Class 19.] Brushes and like sweeping devices are pro. vided with jaws which can be closed to clamp renewable brushes therebetween, one of the jaws being integral with the brush stock. As applied to a street sweeping machine, a series of sleeves B, Fig. 1, mounted on a squared shaft A are provided with wings constituting fixed jaws C, Fig. 4, to which movable jaws C are clamped to hold the bristles. These are doubled over a metallic bar (not shown), inserted between the jaws so as to be seated in a recess I. The bristles may be of wire, metal, whalebone, or vegetable or animal fibre.
