409,462. Brushes. HAYWARD, Ltd., D., and HAYWARD, S. J., Excelsior Brush Works, Bloxwich, Staffordshire. Jan. 11, 1933, No. 961. [Class 19.] In a brush of the kind in which the bristles are kept in place by twisted wires such as 9, 10, a tube or covering of impervious material 8, for example, rubber, is placed on one or each of the wires before they are twisted. The tube may be a loose or tight fit, In a modification the wire is coated with rubber which is subsequently vulcanized. The projecting end 11 of the brush is covered by a rubber cap 12 or a rubber coating.
