[Class 132 (ii).] Apparatus for practising golf comprises a net of fine mesh h and a net of coarse mesh i hung in front of a canvas screen a mounted for longitudinal movement on rollers g<1> mounted in brackets c, c<1> secured to the framework e. The screen is moved by cords g and bears representations of a golf hole or holes and representations of distances together with transverse lines defining them. The ball on being hit strikes the net h and carries it into one of the coarse meshes, forming pockets, of the net i so that the result of the shot can be observed on the screen a. Strip pockets f<1> for shots hit too high are provided. Different parts of the screen a are brought into position by pulling on cords g led through holes in the brackets c from pulleys g<1> on the ends of the rollers carrying the screen. A hole for putting may be formed in the enclosure or if the surface is hard a hole plate or representation may be used. The screen and nets may be used in conjunction with a tethered ball.
