Abstract

376,998. Caravans; portable buildings. JAFFE, M.. 41, Parkfield Road, Liverpool. Sept. 2, 1931, No. 24610. [Class 108 (i).] Folding vehicles.-A caravan comprises a rigid main compartment 2 and one or more supplementary compartments the components of which are hinged to the main compartment. The compartment 2 comprises a floor 3, side walls 4, 5 fitted with windows 6, 7 and doors 8, 9, end walls 10, 11 with window 12 and door 13, and a roof 14. The or each supplementary side compartment comprises end walls 17, 18 hinged at 16, a floor 24 hinged at 23, a side wall 25 hinged to the floor 24 at 28 and a roof 30 hinged at 33, co-operating tongues &c. being provided for positioning &c. purposes. An end verandah may be provided comprising side walls 41 hinged at 42, a floor 43 and a roof 45 hinged at 46. Beds and other furniture may be provided housed in recesses in the main compartment. Supports 47 are provided and the structure may comprise a portable building, the chassis and wheels being dispensed with.
