Abstract
6560. Kiekebusch, A. March 15. Vehicles convertible into buildings.-An automobile is provided with a body having hinged portions which can be unfolded to form a series of rooms grouped about the vehicle so as to serve as a dwelling-house. The central space 1 about which the rooms are grouped is in the form of a removable body capable of being mounted on a motor lorry, and its inner walls are provided with cupboards 29 which can be opened from either side. Hinged to each side of the body are floor pieces 3 having hinged extensions 7 and adjustable feet 5. The floor pieces are let down by a winch 2 and at the same time screwed spindles 10 are operated to raise the roof 9. Hinged sides 11 and gable pieces 13 are then opened, additional supports 15 placed in position, and a roof composed of hinged sections is drawn from beneath the main roof over the pieces 13 and supports 15 by means of a winch. An inner roof in hinged sections is also drawn out to rest on supports carried by the gable pieces 13. An ante-room is formed at the rear of the vehicle by walls 23, and a roof 25 which can be withdrawn like a venetian blind. Closing - pieces 28 are placed around the feet. Additional rooms may be formed by unfolding hinged floors and walls towards the front of the vehicle.
