Abstract
376,814. Door and like metal panels. MANN, E. L., 92, Victoria Street, and LIGHTALLOYS, Ltd., Alpax Works, St. Leonards Road, Willesden Junction, both in London. April 14, 1931, No. 10993. [Classes 20 (iii) and 20 (iv).] Hollow panels for doors, partitions, furniture or the like are constructed of from four to six main parts of which two parts comprise, each a face and side joined by inwardly projecting tongues 8 on the sides inserted into and bent over the edges of cut away webs of bent t T-shaped inserts 4, Fig. 3. The ends are closed by means of sheet metal trays having beaded edges 11 inserted in bends in the face members, the edges of the bends being bent over by tools inserted through openings 14 in the trays. Apertured diecastings 17 may be used to join the faces as shown in Fig. 9, and to form the ends of a panel having a curved side as shown in Fig. 10. A window may be formed in the door &c. by securing a glass panel between castings 25, Fig. 12, between which are clamped the edges of the sides. The interior of the doors &c. may be packed with asbestos or other material to destroy resonance.
