Abstract

Dental instruments.-A model for dental instructional purposes, of the kind provided with artificial jaws and removable teeth, is so constructed that groups of teeth or bridges may be inserted in the jaws in place of the single teeth, and is provided, between the teeth and the jaws, with intermediate sockets removable to illustrate atrophy of the jaw. The hinged jaw members a, b of plaster, porcelain, or metal are formed with recesses f, preferably metal-lined, to receive the tubular stems i of intermediate sockets d. The teeth c, or bridges n, o, Fig. 4, are provided with shanks e to engage in the tubular stems i. The stems i and shanks e may be split to increase their hold. Other parts, not shown, may be inserted in the recesses f or tubular stems i to illustrate various deformities. A headed wire may be inserted into the stems i to facilitate removal of the sockets d from the jaws.
