Abstract

339,026. Unerman, J., and Unerman & Sons., Ltd., J. Sept. 23, 1929. Stays.-In a stay for a hinged lid comprising a strut e a pin e<1> which is guided in a slot g and is adapted to engage a recess h' in a cam-member h<4>, a tongue f<3> projects into the recess h<3> to prevent the pin from riding back. The cam-member may be pivoted as shown or may be fixed. To close the lid it is first raised until the pin e<1> clears the cam projection h<2> and thereafter moves under the same as the lid is closed. The strut e is connected to the lid by means of a link d which is pivoted to a plate c on the lid. The slot g has an extension g<1> to allow of the insertion of the head of the pin e<1>. To offset the slot g from the side of the box, the plate f is either U-shaped or the ends of the plate are bent to form supports.
