Abstract

326,122. Rosan, F. R. Aug. 6, 1929. Screwdrivers.- A device for loosening or tightening a screw &c. S<1>comprises a tool T with a point T<1> having oppositely bevelled edge portions T<2>, T<3> to engage the head S of the screw tightly and a stem L<3> formed at the head H with a fork L<1>. L<2> such that when the fork is struck at an angle with a blunt edged striker W<1> the blow causes the tool to transmit pressure, shock and rotation to the screw. The limbs of the fork may extend helically. In the case of a broken screw a hole is first drilled therein and a tool is used having a wedge shaped end with edges to grip in the hole. A striking member of suitable form may be employed sliding inside guides, or the striking member may be of sleeve form guided on a suitable stem.
