Abstract
303,826. Seignol, E. Jan. 10, 1928, [Convention date]. Spray-carburettors.-The carburettor comprises a diffuser having a divergent portion 2 and a convergent portion 1, fuel being fed to the neck 3 of the diffuser from a space 4 in communication, through a passage 9, calibrated orifice 8, conduit 7<1>, and hole 6, with the fuel in a sealed float chamber 5. The space above the fuel in the float chamber is in communication with the divergent portion of the diffuser through a duct 7. Fuel is drawn into the float chamber through a pipe 13 and is controlled by a valve 12 actuated by a float 10. A valve 14 in the convergent portion of the diffuser is mounted on a tubular member 15, the upper end 18 of which acts as a suction inlet to the space below a spring-loaded piston 16 which carries the tubular member and valve. A collar 22 fitting loosely over the member 15 may be actuated bv the accelerator pedal through a lever 20 in order to hold the valve 14 against the part 1 at starting, or in any other position to obtain certain running conditions. When the collar 22 is lowered, the valve is free to move bv suction. The upper face of the valve 14 is so shaped as to prevent an excessive suction at the neck 3 when the valve is closed. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that alternatively the upper part of the tube 15 may be dispensed with, and suction transmitted to the piston 16 through a tube 15<a> from a fixed point in the diffuser. This statement does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
