Abstract

299,508. Marchant, F. O. July 28, 1927. Garages; uarehouses.-A multifloor garage is formed with spaces in the floors, and pivoted bridges or gangways A in the spaces so arranged as to form an inclined track or tracks leading from one floor to others. The bridge may be pivoted at one end B and raised by gearing connected at the other, or may be pivoted at the centre either above or below the floor level. The bridge may be single-decked or double-decked with the upper deck C supported by structural bars or otherwise, and cars may pass across both decks to other floors. A building is shown in Fig. 8 having two pivoted bridges Y, Z, with aisles X at the ends, so that a car leaving a bridge at one end may be brought round to its other end for a further ascent or descent.
